Current Skincare Favourites | 2017

Hi Beauties!

Beauty and skincare come hand in hand. You could spend hundreds of your hard earned dollars on the perfect foundation or powder, but if the base it goes on has issues then the product itself can’t reach it’s full potential. It is super important to start looking after your skin at an early age in order to delay the signs of ageing in your skin.

My skincare routine is nowhere near where I want it to be, and what I talk about in today’s post will more than likely be changed over the next few months. However I wanted to share with all you guys what I am currently loving and hopefully you can learn a thing or two about some cool products.

Today’s a bit of a long one, but let’s get into it!

Makeup Removers & Serums

Simple kind to skin cleansing facial wipes – this is an oldie but a goodie in my skin care collection. I love using these wipes to remove any left over makeup residue on my skin, I also love them for cleaning up any makeup mistakes!

Clinique take the day off balm – without a doubt my favourite makeup remover I have tried to date, sure it can be a little messy to use but it really gets the job done removing highly pigmented lipsticks and even the dreaded water proof mascara. Out of all the makeup removers I have tried and tested so far, this would be the one I will always recommend as it removes absolutely everything!

Nip + Fab dragon’s fix plumping serum – this serum is super lightweight and helps to give your skin a massive moisture boost. I love using this before applying makeup to make my skin appear more plump and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (it’s never too early to start tackling that issue!)

Moisturisers & Oils

Simple kind to skin light moisturiser – this moisturiser is definitely a major staple in most skin care routines. It keeps your face feeling so nice, soft and moisturised without leaving the skin feeling greasy. It is definitely one of the cheapest moisturisers on the market but it works just as well as any high end brand.

Olay complete daily UV moisturising lotion SPF 30 – Say hello to my favourite daily moisturiser. I love this product because it helps to protect the sensitive and delicate skin as it contains sun protection! It is also super hydrating and doesn’t leave the skin feeling oily like a lot of other sunscreen products do.

Tarte maracujá oil – I never really understood the importance of using oil on your skin, especially because I tend to have more oily skin to begin with. This oil really helps to hydrate the more drier parts of my skin, and also helps to rejuvenate, brighten and smoothen the skin.

Exfoliators & Masks

Nip + Fab dragon’s blood fix cleansing pads – I love using this product to cleanse my pores and to remove any left over makeup or dirt from my skin. I use these cleansing pads before applying makeup and before bed to really help cleanse the skin and leave it feeling clean and hydrated. This product also contains witch hazel which helps to reduce the appearance of imperfections and leaves your skin looking refreshed!

L’oreal Paris pure clay exfoliate and smoothing mask – another new product in my skincare collection! This clay mask really helps to exfoliate my skin and leave it feeling smooth and clean. I love the way my skin glows after using this product. Definitely try it out if you can get your hands on it.

Glam Glow gravity mud firming treatment – an oldie but a goodie! I love using this mask all over my face to tighten and firm my skin and it always leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft! Although this product is one of the most expensive in my skincare collection, it is perfect when I want to pamper myself with something a little more luxurious.

Blaq charcoal deep cleansing mask – this mask is hardcore! As the name suggests, this is a peel off charcoal mask that helps to cleanse pores and removes blackheads, excess sebum and impurities from the skin. I love using this mask over my nose and middle of the forehead (you could use it all over, if you are into that sort of thing) to remove any dirt and blackheads from my skin, and I would only use it once every few weeks as it can make your skin become a little sensitive in areas.

Swisse manuka honey charcoal detoxifying mask – this mask is newer to my collection however it is making a big impact. I love using this mask all over my face to help with the congested and blemish prone areas of my skin. It leaves my skin feeling super hydrated, soft and smooth. Definite must have in my opinion.

Eye Cream & Lip Care

Benefit it’s potent eye cream – who knew that eye cream could be so important?! Our eyes are one of the first things to show the signs of age and stress so it is super important to take care of them. This eye cream really helps to fade dark circles, smooth fine lines and moisturise.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics velour lip scrub – to be honest, I never really thought lip care was that important. However, now that I find myself experimenting more with matte lipsticks I am finding a reason to want to exfoliate my lips. The lip scrubs are gentle on the lips, but firm enough to remove and dead skin and they even taste really yum (yes you can even eat these!) Jeffree offers numerous different flavours in these scrubs so I am sure you will find one that you love!

Nivea hydro care lip balm – during the current winter months this product has been my go to! I literally use this lip balm all day every day to keep my lips hydrated and protected from the chilly wind we have been experiencing this winter. It helps to keep my lips from getting dry and cracked and keeps them plumped and hydrated.

What are some of your skincare faves? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

That’s all for now Beauties!
