My Foundation Collection | Jan 2018

Hi Beauties!

Today’s post is all about my current foundation collection! I think that having the right base for your skin can really help to pull a makeup look together as well as make you feel super confident and beautiful. I have tried plenty of foundations over the years, many of which just didn’t work with my skin, so the ones that I mention in this post have been impressive enough to stay in my makeup collection.

Side note: my skin changes depending on the weather, but I definitely have combination skin. I find my skin to be pretty dry and dehydrated, however, it can get super oily in the t-zone as the day goes on. These foundations work great for me, but they may not work the same on your skin.

Let’s get into my foundation collection!

Chi Chi fabulous & flawless foundation; NYX total control foundation; Chi Chi super BB cream; Maybelline matte + powerless foundation; L’Oreal true match foundation; L’Oreal infallible 24H-matte foundation

Drugstore Foundation

NYX Total Control Foundation – this is a newer foundation in my makeup collection, but it is quickly becoming a favourite! I love that this foundation can be built up to whatever coverage you need for whatever occasion. It has a beautiful velvety matte smooth finish and looks super natural on the skin. I will definitely need to pick up more shades in this foundation!

Maybelline Matte + Powerless Foundation – this is another newer product in my makeup collection. It works perfectly on my oily skin, has a medium coverage and really makes my skin look radiant and smooth. This foundation is a basic staple in any makeup collection.

L’oreal Paris True Match Foundation – I feel like I have gone through at least 5 bottles of this foundation! It has been a true ride or die in my collection for many years. I love the way it wears on the skin throughout the day. It is super blendable and works great at hiding imperfections with its medium (but buildable) coverage. I also love that it is oil-free and it magically adjusts to the texture of the skin to make your base absolutely flawless.

L’oreal Paris Infallible 24hr Matte Foundation – this foundation has been in my collection ever since it hit the shelves and was definitely an old favourite. Although I don’t reach for this product as regularly as I used to, the odd times I do use it I am reminded why I fell in love with it years ago! This foundation is easy to blend, super lightweight on the skin and has a light to medium coverage which can be built up and has a beautiful matte finish.

Chi Chi Super BB Cream – I have never really been a big fan of BB creams as they never worked great with my skin, however, this product really won me over! This super BB cream contains caviar extract which helps to moisturise and sooth the skin, as well as collguard which helps fight wrinkles. It has a light/medium coverage, looks super natural and radiant on the skin, wears really well during the day and has an added SPF factor. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is after a more natural/radiant base.

Chi Chi Fabulous & Flawless Foundation – another old favourite in my collection! This product is a beautiful oil-free foundation with a medium and buildable coverage. I’m not going to lie, the first time I tried this foundation I wasn’t sold on it. However, after I powdered my skin the foundation seemed to transform my skin into a beautifully flawless canvas! I also love that it is enriched with loads of amazing vitamins which are great for the skin. Another foundation that I would recommend everyone to try.

Too Faced born this way foundation; Tarte rainforest of the sea foundation; Iconic London pigment stick; Nars all day luminous weightless foundation

High-End Foundation

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation – I have only recently fallen head over heels for this product. Buying it online made it super hard to guess my correct shade, however, the one that I picked is absolutely perfect for my natural skin without any tan (up until recently I didn’t own any foundations that actually matched my natural skin). This foundation is one of the reasons I haven’t been fake tanning as much, as I have finally found a product that makes my really pale skin look nice! I love how lightweight and hydrating this foundation is. It has a super buildable coverage and contains lots of amazing products to help brighten the skin as well as keep it looking smooth, soft and radiant. I will definitely be picking up more shades of this foundation.

Iconic London Pigment Stick – this is the first ever pigment/foundation stick I have ever tried, and it really won me over! It is super easy to apply, has a nice and creamy texture, has super high and buildable coverage and makes my skin look so radiant and flawless. I love that you can grab a few different shades to use as foundation, contour or highlight and each builds up so nicely on the skin without getting too cakey.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – if there is any foundation from this post that you try, make it be this one! This foundation is without a doubt my holy grail. I love the medium/high coverage this foundation has, as well as the fact that it is oil-free. It contains coconut water which really helps to keep the skin hydrated. It is also infused with other amazing ingredients to help brighten the skin and keep it nice and fresh.

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation – I was really hesitant in trying this foundation due to the fact that it is pretty expensive to get your hands on here in Australia. However, I am so glad that I bit the bullet and tested it out! I love that this product has a really natural-looking coverage which still lets your skin breathe and feel comfortable. It wears amazingly throughout the day and really does leave the skin looking luminous and flawless.

What are some of your favourite foundations? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

That’s all for now Beauties!
