Makeup Storage 2019

Hi Beauties,

I guess it doesn’t come as much of a shock to you when I say I love makeup. I love playing with it, I love looking at it, I like everything about it. But if there is one thing I love more than makeup, its organisation. I love knowing EXACTLY where everything is, and if I can’t find something, whatever it is gets reorganised once again (yes, I am constantly refolding and reorganising my clothes, even if just one thing is out of place). So having my makeup organised and looking pretty makes me SUPER happy.

Today’s post is going to be about my makeup organisation. Like all typical makeup hoarders, I have two of the Alex 5 Drawer unit from IKEA to store all my makeup in. All the drawer inserts are from an amazing Australian brand called Vanity Collections (not sponsored I just genuinely love them). I got hooked onto them a few years ago now and I have been slowly purchasing more and more dividers and holders from them so that my whole beauty set up looks on point at all times!

Let’s get into it!

First up we have my foundation, concealer, primer and liquid highlight drawer. I am using the Vanity Collections set 4 dividers for these products. As you can see I have removed one of the long inserts so that I could have a place to lay down my concealers and larger primer products. I love that these inserts are made perfectly for the Alex Drawer units, as they are harder drawers to fit stuff into.

Next up we have the face palette and eyeshadow palette drawers. I am combining these two as they both use the same Vanity Collections set 2 dividers. Each of these sets comes with 15-row dividers, some of which I have removed so that I can fit bigger/bulky palettes. Again, these dividers fit perfectly into my Alex drawers, but you can also get different sizes to fit into existing drawers you already have.

Now we are into my single eye product drawers. For this, I am using the Vanity Collections set 1 dividers. These dividers have 4 columns with 60 individual slots for all your smaller potted products. I love the acrylic design of these dividers as they are quite solid and are clear so that you can still see exactly what each product is when you go to use it.

Our second last drawer holds all my bronzers, blushers and single highlighter products. This one is the Vanity Collections set 3 dividers. This is similar to the previous dividers, except that it has 3 larger columns with 45 individual storage slots. Sadly, some of my dividers did not make it through the big moves I have done this year so unfortunately, these slots do not go all the way to the back of the drawer. But instead, I have placed my bigger products at the back so that they can lay down flat. If you have any of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frosts, they fit PERFECTLY in these dividers!

Last, but certainly not least, we have the amazing lip drawer. This huge Vanity Collections lip divider is great for all your lip glosses AND lipsticks as it contains 11 higher rows and 7 shorter rows and it can hold a total of 180 products! As you all should know from my previous blog posts, I am a collector of Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks, so it was super important for me to have a drawer insert that doesn’t waste space and that fits all my products. I had previously used the smaller lipstick holders, but as my collection grew, I know I needed something that could hold WAAAAAY more products.

Vanity Collections not only does drawer inserts, but they also have a wide range of desktop storage too. Some other goodies I have picked up from them include the brush holder and the large marble makeup bag. I love the brush holder and use it for lipliner/lippie stix storage as well as to hold a few setting sprays and brushes. The makeup bag is a newer product for me. But I am excited to finally have something big enough and sturdy enough to hold a heck of a lot of makeup.

I have included some videos that I took back when I moved and had to reorganise my makeup, if you want to check them out!

How do you store your makeup? What was your favourite Vanity Collections storage idea from today’s post? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

That’s all for now Beauties!
