Huda Beauty is quickly becoming one of the most popular beauty brands on the market. Since its creation in 2013, Huda Kattan has developed her brand into something that is highly respected amongst the beauty community. Of course, it hasn’t gone without its fair share of drama and controversy, but there is no denying that the brand she has created is glamorous and of high quality. It has grown from just selling eyelashes, to now selling products like liquid lipsticks, lip liners, highlighters, foundations and eyeshadow palettes, just to name a few.
Today’s post is going to focus on the Electric Obsessions palette. This product is a mini eyeshadow palette which contains 6 bold matte shades and 3 shimmers. This palette is not for the faint-hearted! As you can tell by the pictures, it is super bright and contains everything from electric yellows to bright blues. Although it wouldn’t be included in my ‘everyday eyeshadow’ looks, it is super easy to create something bright and dramatic by just using this palette alone.
Let’s get into some swatches and the review!
I had never tried anything from this brand before, as I had always thought it was far too expensive and difficult to get here in Australia. This palette retails for $27 USD on the Huda Beauty website (no longer available), however, I picked mine up from Sephora last year for $48 AUD.
The main reason for me purchasing this product was because I found that my eyeshadow collection was really lacking those bright in your face colours. I have tried other ‘bright’ palettes in the past, only to be disappointed with the pigmentation and performance of the shades. The electric obsessions palette, however, did not disappoint. All the shades are super bright and blend out amazingly. Like most palettes, the mattes are a little drier than the shimmers but I didn’t have any trouble building up the colour I wanted when applying it to my eyes. The shimmery shades are a standout. They are extremely pigmented, blend out beautifully and really pop when placed on the lid. Although this palette is considered a ‘mini’, the pan sizes are still decent and I don’t see myself going through all the product anytime soon.
Before trying this product, I thought that $48 for a mini eyeshadow palette was a little insane, however, after just one test run I definitely believe that you are getting your money worth out of the product and would definitely recommend it. I need to try more Huda Beauty products in the future.
What are your thoughts on this palette? What other Huda Beauty products would you recommend I try? Leave me a comment below and let me know! 🙂
That’s all for now beauties!
