Welcome back to another blog post! Today we are going to start a new Project Pan for 2020. If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a project pan, it is basically where you set yourself a goal to hit pan or empty products that you have in your makeup collection.
Last year I attempted to do a project pan but I wasn’t completely dedicated to it. However this year, I have decided that I love living the minimal life (because having so much stuff is too stressful and expensive). So I have been finding new ways to go through my makeup/skincare collection and narrow it down to just the items that I really love.
I have gone through my collection and selected 2 products from each section (or 1, or 3 depending on the category), these products have either been in my collection for a while and are about to expire, or are newer and need testing out. So in today’s post, I am going to introduce you to these products so we can come back to them throughout the year and see how I am going!
I purchased the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream a while back in a little mini pack with a bunch of other goodies. I have been loving it so I am more than happy to try and use up the rest of it! A little of this product goes a very long way too, which is probably why it has lasted a lot longer than some of the other minis in the little collection it came with.
I got my hands on the Too Faced Hangover Primer in October of 2018 and have been slowly using it ever since. I recently decided that I am in love with this product so I aim to use up this mini-sized product and eventually purchase myself the full-sized one (after I get through some other primers first of course). I am probably just about to finish this up, so it’s encouraging to have a product in the project pan that will be empty pretty soon!
The Benefit The Pore Fessional Primer has also been in my collection since October 2018 so it is about time I use it up and get rid of it. I have been through a fair few of these primers, so it’s safe to say it will find its way back to me eventually.
I got a sample size of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water back in 2016 (yikes!). I have never been a big fan of this product, but instead of just getting rid of it I am trying my hardest to use it up!
I can honestly say I don’t know how long I have had the Mario Badescu Facial Spray in my collection, which is a little concerning. But again, I aim to use up this product quickly so I can get rid of it and try some other sprays out.
I do really love my Maybelline SuperStay Foundation (shades True Ivory & Ivory), however, I am so sad that this is not a cruelty-free brand. I am aiming to move my collection to be more cruelty-free, so, unfortunately, this one is going to have to go soon. I am planning on doing a foundation review on all my foundations so this one is a good one to start with as I know I do love it.
Similarly, I love my Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation (shades F1 & F7) and luckily for me it is also cruelty-free! I have had these in my collection for a little while, but they are a product that I want to review, so that’s why I picked it!
Every single beauty lover out there has tried the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (shades Fair Beige & Light Neutral), I have had these in my collection for too long so I need to use them up and move along to try some of my other concealers!
I have also had my Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder for far too long which means it needs to go! I want to use up as much of it as I can over the next couple of months and then get rid of it.
I love the Australis ‘Natural’ Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder and I have a couple of backups ready to be shown some love. I added this into the project pan just to have a pressed powder!
I can honestly say I have hardly ever used my ColourPop Cosmetics ‘Wisp’ Super Shock Cheek which is why I decided to include it in my project pan. It is a shimmery bronzer shade which is probably why I haven’t reached for it much, but what’s the harm in testing it out a bit before I pass it along?
If you have been around since my last attempt at a project pan then you would have seen the Too Faced ‘Chocolate Soleil’ Bronzer was in that one too! I still haven’t gotten rid of it but it is still performing quite well. I am going to use up as much of it as I can before the middle of the year, then I will finally say goodbye!
I have had The Balm ‘Downboy’ Blush in my collection since 2016! It is still performing amazingly and is such a beautiful blush. I am sure it will eventually go bad so I am hoping to get as much use out of it as possible before I need to get rid of it.
Everyone in the beauty world has heard of Nars ‘Orgasm’ Blush. I picked this up all the way back in 2017 and to be honest I barely reached for it. I want to get some good use out of it before it eventually goes off!
I need to test out my ColourPop Cosmetics ‘Lunch Money’ Super Shock Cheek more! I love my other shade in ‘Flexitarian’ to death, but I need to give some others a chance too which is why I picked ‘Lunch Money’ to be in my project pan!
Another favourite is my Becca ‘Pearl’ Shimmering Skin Perfector. This is the most perfect shade for fair skin beauties like myself! I have had this in my collection for a little too long and it needs to go some time this year! Best try to use as much as I can before then cause these are expensive!
The Nars ‘Virtual Domination’ Cheek Palette is an oldie in my collection. I got it way back in 2016 and I have barely used it! Again, like most of the other products, I just want to use up as much as I can before I have to get rid of it.
I couldn’t even tell you when I added the Sleek Contouring & Blush Palette into my collection. Which is a little concerning! Like many others in my project pan, this is one of those ones that I need to use up as much as I can before it goes at some point this year!
I really love my Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and I am pretty sure that it is almost empty. So this one is just an easy pan product!
Although I have only had the Ulta3 Great Lengths Waterproof Mascara in my collection for a couple of weeks, I decided to include this simply because I wanted to test it out and see how long it will last for. Side note: I am loving it!
My Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Dark Brown’ Brow Definer has been a favourite for a long time! This is my second stick of this stuff so it is clear that I really do love it. I do want to start trying other brow products so once she’s all used up I will have a break from it to test some new goodies out.
Lastly, another favourite in my collection for a long time is the Benefit ‘Shade 4’ Gimme Brow+. I have been using this before they rebranded and came out with new packaging. However, this one only came into my collection in August last year. Again, I wouldn’t mind testing out new brow products so I want to use it up and move it along.
Do you like the idea of a project pan? What products would you have in your project pan? Leave me a comment and let me know 🙂
That’s all for now Beauties!
