New Release | Ulta3 | Dark Summer Collection

Hi Beauties,

I am back at you again with a new post! I am really trying to get back into being more consistent with posting again, but it might take me some time as I have a lot of ideas going on in my head, and so little time to see them through!

Anyway, in today’s post, we are going to have a look at a brand new collection that was just released last week! I was lucky enough to be sent some of the new Ulta3 Dark Summer Collection to try out from the lovely Julia and the Ulta3 team.

The Dark Summer Collection is a stunningly warm and wearable collection with a fashionably dark twist, according to Ulta3. They believe that reflective and multi-dimensional tones are no stranger to the summer season, but this new collection features a striking addition to the traditional bronzed summer look we all know and love. This collection features dark plum shades, berry tones and a mix of metallics that will help elevate your look!

IMG_0267

First up in the collection we have the Great Lengths Mascara, which comes in both a normal and waterproof edition. Ulta3 believes that if long and defined lashes are your thing, then this is your product! This mascara comes with a slimline silicone brush that ensures that even those small, difficult to reach lashes are coated. The formula is also infused with Vitamin E and Biotinoyl Tripeptide which helps to hydrate and strengthen lashes. I myself love a waterproof or water-resistant formula when it comes to mascaras as I have always had issues with transferring during the day from normal mascaras. The Great Lengths Mascara retails for only $9.95 AUD.

Next up we have the limited edition Master Metals Eyeshadows, which comes in three stunning metallic shades – Brass, Bronze and Copper. If you love making a statement with super reflective, creamy metallic eyeshadows than these might be the products for you! The high-intensity formula of these shadows means that a little product goes a really long way. The Master Metals Eyeshadow retails for $6.95 AUD each.

IMG_0266

Next in this collection, we have the Longwear Matte Lip Cream, which comes in 3 shades – Fearless, Strike Out and Dark Dreams. I was lucky enough to receive the shade Strike Out which is a stunning deep red shade. I love a liquid lipstick so I am hoping that this will be no exception. My first impression of the formula is that it is very pigmented and has the potential to be a new favourite of mine! The Longwear Matte Lip Creams retail for $7.95 AUD each.

IMG_0265

What good is having great eyeshadow, if you have no base to put it on? The next product in this collection is the All Night Long Eyeshadow Primer. Eyeshadow primers help to extend the wear and increase the intensity of any eyeshadow with just one simple step. I can’t wait to start using this, as I have just gotten into trying out different eyeshadow bases! The Ulta3 All Night Long Eyeshadow Primer retails for $6.95 AUD.

IMG_0268

The Dark Summer Collection features not one, but TWO different mascara types. The second is the Loud and Proud Mascara, which also comes in a waterproof and normal formula. Ulta3 believes that if you love yourself some thick and voluminous lashes then this is the mascara for you. This product comes with a non-clumping, high-lift formula that ensures all lashes are completely coated and lifted. I am down to the last few uses of my current mascara, so I am beyond happy to test out this one soon! The Loud and Proud Mascara retails for $9.95 AUD.

IMG_0269

Last, but certainly not least, we have some stunning limited edition nail polishes! There are three shades available – Thunder, Sangria and Evolve. I have really been loving my Ulta3 polishes so far. I do get my nails done by my trusty nail tech, but I tend to mix up the colours on my toes every now and then, and that’s how I have been testing them out. I am loving the look of both the shades I received (Sangria, a deep brown/red shade and Evolve, a metallic brown shade). However, I really am intrigued about the Thunder shade, so I might have to go pick it up myself. The Ulta3 Nail Polishes retail for only $2.95 AUD each!

This range is vegan and cruelty-free and is available to purchase now at selected pharmacies and online

*Disclaimer – all these products have been generously gifted to me, but all opinions are my own*

New Release | Ulta3 | Ultimate Gifting Collection

Hi Beauties!

They say it is the most wonderful time of the year, but it is also the most stressful time to shop for all those family/friends Christmas presents. Ulta3 decided to help to take the guesswork out of gifting this Christmas and release a complete range of premium quality cosmetic gift sets (without the premium price tag!)

Once again, I was lucky enough to be contacted by a member of the Ulta3 Beauty team and asked if I wanted to try out some of their 2019 Gifting Collection. After trying out the last goodies I received, and being super impressed by them, I knew I wanted to do some more testing on this range. Today’s post is going to be all about the wonderful Ulta3 2019 Gifting Collection.

IMG_0133

Firstly we have the beautiful Trend Hunter Nail Gift Set. This pack of four full-sized beautiful nail polishes only costs $9.95 AUD! The bold and bright shades will give you the pop of colour you need to brighten any look. These polishes are so stunning and I can definitely see myself being unable to pick which one I want to use first.

Next up we have the Go Getter Eyeshadow Palette which retails for only $19.95 AUD. This palette is designed to be totally wearable but also allow you to make a statement. It has nine super pigmented and blendable eyeshadow shades which are the perfect mix of natural tones and ‘pop’ shades. You can definitely create a beautiful natural day look, then turn it into a dramatic night look with just this one palette. I have been playing around with this one over the past few weeks and I am really impressed! This would be a great present for a young beauty who is just getting into makeup as the shades are not too pigmented that they are hard to work with which means you can slowly work your way up to a beautiful look. I have also found that these eyeshadows are super blendable and buttery!

How beautiful is this The Cheek Of It Baked Blush Palette?! It only costs $14.95 AUD and contains eight stunning baked blush powders. It has a beautiful range of shades, tones and finishes so that anyone will be able to find the right blush for them. I also tested this one out over the past few days and I think I have found my new favourite blush palette! All the shades are stunning and buttery, they also aren’t overly pigmented which means you won’t end up looking like a clown. The smell of this palette is to die for, I can’t quite put my finger on what it is exactly, but whatever it is smells amazing.

The second to last product is the stunning Face The Day Baked Contour and Highlight Palette. This beauty will set you back only $14.95 AUD! This palette contains everything that you need to brighten and bronze-like a pro. The palette is travel-friendly and contains eight beautiful bronzer and highlight shades that can be used on any skin tone (it also smells really nice). I tested this one out for the first time the other day and was super impressed! I loved the different bronzer shades and how they blended so seamlessly onto the skin. They didn’t go muddy when I added extra colour and the shades blended so nicely into each other.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Colour Countdown Calendar. This new take on the traditional chocolate advent calendar will only cost you $24.95 AUD. This fun advent calendar features 12 beautiful travel sized Ulta3 nail polishes which are each hidden behind their own individual door. They can be used to brighten up each day in the lead up to the special day. If you are impatient like me, then jump over to my Instagram to see the beautiful polishes in this advent calendar. I also did some swatches of these nail polishes, and the nail polishes from the Trend Hunter Nail Gift Set on there too! Check them out here.

This range is vegan and cruelty-free and is available to purchase now at selected pharmacies and online

*Disclaimer – all these products have been generously gifted to me, but all opinions are my own*

Have you tried any of the Gifting Collection from Ulta3? What product is your favourite? Leave me a comment and let me know 🙂

Jeffree Star Cosmetics | Jawbreaker Palette | First Impressions

Hi Beauties,

A few weeks ago I put out a blog post dedicated to the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Breaker Palette. As promised in that blog post, this week I am going to share my thoughts on the bigger and bolder Jawbreaker Eyeshadow Palette

In June Jeffree Star Cosmetics released his newest Summer Collection which included so many amazing products. One of which is the large and in-charge Jawbreaker Eyeshadow Palette. This palette contains 24 (yes 24 shades!) super bright and colourful eyeshadows. Two of the shades, ‘Bubble Gum’ and ‘Bite Me’ also come in the smaller Mini Breaker Palette. This palette retails for $58 USD (approx. $85.76 AUD) on its own or can be purchased in a bundle with the Mini Breaker Palette for $75 USD (approx. $110.80 AUD).

“Say hello to our BIGGEST palette we’ve ever released! The Jawbreaker Palette is our take on a rainbow colour story, including 24 bright and iconic eyeshadows and pressed pigments. With the same intensely pigmented formulation as our previous palettes, Jawbreaker is filled with blendable mattes, blinding shimmers and silky metallics!”

IMG_0221

Final Thoughts…

If you already own any of Jeffree Star’s other palettes than you would know that the pigmentation of his eyeshadows is simply amazing. I found that all shades were super pigmented and easy to blend. I was worried about how the lighter pastel shades would perform, but they were just as pigmented and stunning on the eyes as they were in the pans.  There was a little bit of fall out and kick back with some of the shades but nothing major. There is a slight bit of skin staining from some of the shades but again that is to be expected when you are working with vegan eye products.

If I had to pick something to criticise, it would be the layout of the shadows. Being a slight OCD ridden individual, I would have loved for the shades to have a bit more uniformity instead of being randomly scattered throughout the palette. If that’s all I have in terms of negatives than that is something that I can definitely live with.

Have you tried out this palette? What are your thoughts on it? Leave me a comment and let me know 🙂

Mecca Max | Desert Queen Eye And Face Palette | First Impression

Hi Beauties!

Mecca Max has officially done it again! Earlier last month Mecca announced the arrival of a new Queen palette on their Instagram. If you have been following my blog for a while then you may have seen my post on the Mecca Max Beauty Queen Palette, and their new palette is it’s not so distant relative, Desert Queen! As soon as I saw the first images, and stories from influencers receiving this palette in the mail, I knew I had to race out and get one. So that’s exactly what I did. Today’s post is going to be all about my first impressions of the new Mecca Max Desert Queen Eye and Face Palette!

IMG_0209

Let’s break the palette down a little bit. Mecca describes this palette as…

Desert nights just got dreamier with a royal touch of gilded ruby and rich sunset tones! This super pretty palette is a matte, marbled and metallic must-have full of lavishly luxe summer-inspired shades. A treasure chest of fifteen blendable and buildable high-impact pigments. This oversized palette is flush with richly ranged tones. Go from a glam-packed gold gaze to vivacious violet vibes or a sizzling hot-sands stare with this bejewelled BFF. Claim that crown!

If that doesn’t grab your attention, then maybe the super affordable price point of $38 for 15 amazing pans will do it for you! It is also 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

Firstly, let’s talk about the packaging. I love it! It is super similar to the original Beauty Queen palette, except this one if orange instead of pink. It is simple, yet stunning and feels really sturdy. It comes with a huge mirror also, so that is a big bonus in my eyes.

IMG_0210

The texture and pigment are the exact same as the original Beauty Queen palette also. It is rough to the touch but also extremely buttery and highly pigmented. This palette is slightly different as it contains a few matte shades. The matte shades are also super pigmented and will work well on the eyes with the texture they have. Once again, the marbled shades are a nice surprise once swatched as it is hard to picture how the different coloured marble will mix together.

Final thoughts – Mecca Max is killing the game once again! If you haven’t had a chance to swatch or see this palette in person, I would highly recommend you run into your closest Mecca store and bask in its beauty. I can’t wait to play around with this palette and create some amazing looks to share with you guys.

Did you pick up the Mecca Max Desert Queen Palette? Is it on your wish list? Leave me a comment and let me know! 

Hi Beauties!

A few weeks ago Jeffree Star Cosmetics released their newest ‘Alien’ collection which includes a new eyeshadow palette, velour liquid lipsticks, lip scrubs and makeup bags. In case you didn’t already know, I am a collector of the liquid lipsticks as they are my favourite formula wise (and they are super pigmented AND can be used in multiple ways). In true collector style I set my alarm for 5am so that I could grab everything I wanted from this collection. I will have a blog post going up soon which focuses on the Alien Eyeshadow palette, so make sure you are following so you don’t miss it! But for today, we are going to look at the newest 8 shades in the Velour Liquid Lipstick range!

Let’s get into some swatches!

Juvia’s Place | The Zulu Eyeshadow Palette

Hi Beauties!

If you haven’t heard of Juvia’s Place, then you are in for a real treat! The owner, Chichi Eburu, is a Nigeria-born wife and mother of two who launched her cosmetics company roughly 4 years ago. Currently, they sell super vibrant and pigmented eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, blushes, lipstick and brushes!

I recently picked up three of the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes, so today’s post is going to focus on the Zulu Palette! I will be sharing swatches, details on all the shades and my first impressions of this palette.

Let’s get into it!

IMG_4793

The Zulu palette contains 9 large shadow pans, 6 beautiful matte shades and 3 exotic metallic shimmers. You can buy these directly from the Juvia’s Place website for $20 USD (approx. $28 AUD), however I purchased mine from the Black Swallow website (at time of posting, it was unable to find it on the website, possibly sold out).

“Art is Life

The ambiance of the Zulu eyeshadow palette takes on a new character. It exemplifies the rich arts of the Ndebele people of South Africa, embodied with colourful symmetry and precision.

A limitless expression of self through eccentric hues, earth tones and exotic metallic shades.”

IMG_0054
The Zulu Palette Shades

Shade 1 – light bright matte orange

Shade 2 – matte yellow

Shade 3 – medium matte warm brown with yellow/orange undertones

Shade 4 – creamy matte teal

Shade 5 – foiled spring green

Shade 6 – foiled aqua

Shade 7 – pinky gold duo chrome

Shade 8 – bright matte rose

Shade 9 – bright matte purple

As I expected, the pigmentation of this palette is amazing! I am usually blown away by shimmer shades, but for this palette, it’s all about the matte shades. This palette really inspires me to play with bright bold colours and I can’t wait to get into this palette.

Have you tried any Juvia’s Place palettes? What other Juvia’s Place palettes would you recommend I try? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

Juvia’s Place | Saharan II Eyeshadow Palette

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi Beauties!

If you haven’t heard of Juvia’s Place, then you are in for a real treat! The owner, Chichi Eburu, is a Nigeria-born wife and mother of two who launched her cosmetics company roughly 4 years ago. Currently, they sell super vibrant and pigmented eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, blushes, lipstick and brushes!

After seeing numerous videos from NikkieTutorials featuring Juvia’s Place products, as well as seeing some dedicated blog posts on MUFAVORITES, I knew this is one brand that I had to try out for myself!

I recently picked up three of the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes, so today’s post is going to focus on the Saharan II Palette! I will be sharing swatches, details on all the shades and my first impressions of this palette!

Let’s get into it!

IMG_4786

The Saharan II palette contains 9 super pigmented shades that include matte and metallic finishes. You can buy these directly from the Juvia’s Place website for $20 USD (approx. $28 AUD), however I purchased mine from the Black Swallow website for $36 (I got free shipping as I spent over $100 and used the oh so handy Afterpay method of payment).

“Spice Up Your Eyes!!

Introducing the uber pigmented, hot and spicy Saharan II eyeshadow palette. Inspired by the rich colours in Moroccan spices, herbs, rich patterns and one of a kind heirloom of the Moroccan people.

Saharan II consists of a beautiful blend of matte and shimmer textures, that will transform you into a regal goddess.”

IMG_0055
Saharan II Palette Shades (top to bottom): Marrakesh, Aziza, Hadiya, Berber, Nomad, Chefchaouen, Fez, Zohra, Taza

Marrakesh – orange toned peach with gold reflects

Aziza – champagne gold metallic shade

Hadiya – light brown with a copper shift

Berber – sea blue metallic shade

Nomad – burgundy/cranberry with a red/orange shift

Chefchaouen – icy mint green and aqua duo chrome with gold shimmer

Fez – deep brown matte with red undertones

Zohra – deep burgundy matte

Taza – dark burnt orange matte

Firstly, check out the size of those pans! I feel like I am never going to hit pan in this palette. I am also absolutely blown away at the pigmentation of these eyeshadows. Both the matte and the metallic shades impressed me so much and I can’t wait to play with it more! They are creamy to the touch and I can honestly say that there isn’t a single shade that lets the palette down in terms of pigmentation!

Have you tried any Juvia’s Place palettes? What other Juvia’s Place palettes would you recommend I try? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

Colourpop Disney Designer Collection | First Impression

Hi Beauties!

Once upon a time… (last week), Colourpop Cosmetics launched their new, limited edition, Disney Designer Collection! I was so excited when I first saw the sneak peaks of this collection and I knew I had to get my hands on some of the goodies. If you have read any of my previous posts about Colourpop, you would know that they are a big favourite of mine. Their entire range is extremely cheap but has really high quality, and they have something for everyone.

Let’s break down the collection a little bit! Firstly, there is the ‘It’s A Princess Thing’ pressed powder shadow palette, which costs $20 USD (approx. $28 AUD) and it contains 15 eyeshadows with a mix of matte, sheen and metallic shades which are inspired by the iconic Disney Princesses. Then there are three stunning ultra glossy lip shades, ‘Bibbidi’, ‘Bobbidi’ and ‘Boo’ . These can be bought separately for $6 USD each (approx. $9 AUD). Next there are 6 crème lux lipstick shades, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Belle’, ‘Ariel’, ‘Snow White’, ‘Jasmine’ and ‘Tiana’. These cost only $7 USD each (approx. $10 AUD). Then there are 6 amazing super shock shadow shades, ‘Heigh-Ho’, ‘So This Is Love’, ‘Under The Sea’, ‘Be Our Guest’, ‘A Whole New World’ and ‘Almost There’ and these will set you back $5 USD each (approx. $7 AUD). Last but not least, Colourpop also released 2 stunning super shock highlighter shades, ‘Part Of Your World’ and ‘A Smile And A Song’. These run for $8 USD each (approx. $11 AUD). I only picked up the eyeshadow palette and three of the crème lux lipsticks as these were the products I would get the most use out of/they went out of stock so quickly!

Let’s get into swatching and my first impressions of the products I picked up.

The formula and pigmentation of the Colourpop pressed powder shadows is something that I have really grown to love over the past year. They blend super easily and look absolutely amazing on the eyes. The ‘It’s A Princess Thing’ palette contains a great mix of 4 matte and 11 metallic/glitter/shimmer shades. They are super pigmented as you can see by the swatches and the shade range allows you to create so many amazing different looks. Colourpop’s metallic/shimmer shades are my favourite (formula wise) by far! I don’t know how they do it.

I love the packaging on this palette as well. I love the modern take of the Princess art on the front, and the fact that the shade names are on the back AND underneath the shades as well. My favourite shades would have to be Poison Apple, Fairy Godmother and Thingamabob purely because of the shine and pigmentation that they give. The only thing that is missing is a large mirror, but that can be forgiven.

IMG_0042

I haven’t tried many of the Colourpop creme lux lipsticks in the past as I am more of a matte liquid lipstick kind of girl. The Disney Designer Collection creme lux lipsticks are all creamy-matte shades and are also said to be long wearing. ‘Ariel’ is a peachy beige nude shade, ‘Belle’ is a rosy berry shade and ‘Snow White’ is a candy apple red shade. Although ‘Ariel’ and ‘Belle’ are so similar, the difference is just enough to warrant having both of them in my collection. The pigmentation is amazing on these products, I only did one swipe for the swatches and as you can see they are full and rich of pigment. I can see myself wearing all these shades.

IMG_0041

An extra bonus is the packaging! I love the modern drawings of the Princesses on the carton and I also love the fact that all the Princesses signatures are on the cap of the lipsticks.

Did you pick up anything from this collection? What Disney Princess is your favourite? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

Juvia’s Place | Saharan Eyeshadow Palette

Hi Beauties!

If you haven’t heard of Juvia’s Place, then you are in for a real treat! The owner, Chichi Eburu, is a Nigeria-born wife and mother of two who launched her cosmetics company roughly 4 years ago. Currently, they sell super vibrant and pigmented eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, blushes, lipstick and brushes!

I recently picked up three of the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes, so today’s post is going to focus on the Saharan Palette! I will be sharing swatches, details on all the shades and my first impressions of this palette.

Let’s get into it!

IMG_4790

The Saharan palette contains 12 super vibrant shades that include matte, shimmery and satin finishes. You can buy these directly from the Juvia’s Place website for $20 USD (approx. $28 AUD), however, I purchased mine from the Black Swallow website for $54 (I got free shipping as I spent over $100 and used the oh so handy Afterpay method of payment).

“A Lively Saharan

Inspired by the vibrancy and vivaciousness of the Wodabee Festivities in the Fulani culture of Western Africa. Filled with elaborate and flamboyant makeup.

The Saharan eye shadow palette is endowed with pops of colors, earthy hues and golds that emulate a true Saharan.”

IMG_0053
Saharan Palette Shades (top to bottom): Sokoto, Wodaabe, Bororo, Kia, Zoya, Iman, Jamila, Senegal, Chad, Katsina, Lulu, Fula

Sokoto – matte bright red toned orange

Wodaabe – metallic green gold

Bororo – metallic deep red/cranberry

Kia –  blackened metallic teal

Zoya – pale peachy gold with pink undertones and a satin finish

Iman – pure pearly white metallic

Jamila – dark matte brick red

Senegal – metallic bronze

Chad – matte black

Katsina – soft matte tan

Lulu – pale salmon pink with peach undertones and a satin finish

Fula – medium pink/cranberry metallic

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is amazing. They are super creamy and smooth to the touch and very easy to work with! I can’t wait to play with it more. The mix of bold metallics and stunning neutrals is exactly what Juvia’s Place is all about. The only con that I found with this palette in my first impressions of it is that I don’t really see how I cam create heaps of different looks using ONLY this palette. Yes, it does have lots of vibrant and amazing shades, but I only like using matte shades in my crease, so the fact that this palette only has 1 brown transition shade, two reddy crease shades and a black, I struggle to come up with ways to only use this palette to create different looks. In saying that, it doesn’t bother me too much that I would have to reach for another palette, I just know this isn’t a palette that would be packed into my travel makeup kit.

Have you tried any Juvia’s Place palettes? What other Juvia’s Place palettes would you recommend I try? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂

Mecca Max | Beauty Queen Eyeshadow Palette | First Impression

Hi Beauties!

Once again I can start by saying, long time, no blog post! Life has been crazy lately. I have finally moved houses (all my makeup is in boxes waiting to be neatly organised into its new home) and I am finally on holidays from work. So I am hoping that I can get back into the swing of things over the next couple of weeks. Now, enough personal chat, let’s get into some makeup!!

Earlier this week, Mecca announced the arrival of some new products on their Instagram. One of which is from their own brand, Mecca Max! The first pictures I saw of the new Beauty Queen Eyeshadow Palette had me hooked and the fact that it is a limited edition product meant I needed it then and there. So I raced to my local Mecca store the day after its arrival and picked one up! So today’s blog post is going to be all about my first impressions of the Mecca Max Beauty Queen Eyeshadow Palette!

IMG_0021

Let’s break the palette down a little bit. The Mecca website describes this palette as “the prettiest palette you ever did see – fit for a Beauty Queen! 15 Shimmering pigments for eye and face for a spotlight-savvy glow.” If that doesn’t make you want to rush out and grab one, then maybe the $38 price tag will do it for you!

IMG_0022

Firstly, the packaging. I love it! It is simple, yet stunning and feels really sturdy which is super important. It comes with a ginormous mirror which takes up the other side of the palette which is a definite added bonus.

Next, the texture and pigment. To be honest, I wasn’t sure about the texture when I first went in for a finger swatch. It seemed rough, but buttery at the same time. But I found that the more I went in, the more I liked the texture. As for pigmentation, it’s a yes from me! As you can see from the swatches, each and every shade in this palette shows up beautifully on the skin. Something to note, however, is that some of the shades swatch very differently to the way they look in the pan, but that is something I can look past as I love them either way.

Final thoughts – go and get it right now before you miss out!! Not only is this palette beautiful to look at, it is also super pigmented, gives you a lot to play with, can be used on the eyes and on the face and has 15 gorgeous shimmery shades for only $38!! You won’t be disappointed.

Did you pick up the Mecca Max Beauty Queen Eyeshadow Palette? What were your first impressions? Leave me a comment and let me know! 🙂
